Sebastian Hilli has established himself as one of the leading composers of his generation. In his new work written in collaboration with the philosopher Mattias Lehtinen, he asks whether boundless hubris threatens the future of democracy. The work engages in dialogue with classics that explore hubris, such as SophoclesAntigoneWilliam Shakespeare's King Lear, and Thomas Mann's Doktor Faustus.

The programme also includes a new commission from Anna Huuskonen. In selecting both Swedish and Finnish texts for Puut, tähdet (The Trees, the Stars), Huuskonen brings together two important strands of contemporary Finnish society. Galina Grigorjeva’s Salve Regina provides a spiritual angle. The Helsinki Chamber Choir is thrilled to continue its collaboration with the renowned Polish ensemble, NeoQuartet.
